Volunteer with us:

We at Zimbabwe Artists Project are a growing community and are always looking for dedicated volunteers. We offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. We know your time is precious to you, and even if it’s just for an hour your help is greatly appreciated. For information about how you can participate in upcoming volunteer activities, please read the descriptions below and contact Heather to set up a time to volunteer.

  • Art preparation: Like painting, using drills or glue sticks? These jobs are for you. Includes dowel rod painting, drilling and wiring, board painting wiring, ironing fabric paintings, assembling paintings/appliqués to their dowel rods and other tasks.
  • Data Entry/Computer Work: Tech savvy? Grace us with your presence!
  • Organizing: From time to time we need help organizing, stocking and pulling inventory.
  • Events: Work either the back or front end of events by helping with art selection and logistics, or by helping us hang displays and staff events.
  • Help us organize an event: We are always looking for volunteers that can assist with outreach by organizing an art show through any of the following venues: another non-profit, art centers, restaurants, religious institutions etc.

Volunteer with one of our Hands On Greater Portland Projects
We offer organized volunteer work parties through Hands On Greater Portland. Hands On Greater Portland is a volunteer resource center for the Portland metro area which works to connect volunteers with opportunities at non-profits addressing critical needs in our community. If you’d like to participate in one of these, please visit their website to register: Hands On Greater Portland.

Make a Donation:

ZAP does not rely on grant money to assist the artists. This is why your continued support is crucial to the continuation of the project. By donating funds to ZAP you’re helping us ensure our continued services to the artists. Zimbabwe Artists Project is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization. Donations to ZAP are tax-deductible.  You may donate online, or send a check to Zimbabwe Artists Project at any time at 107 SE Washington Street, Suite 162, Portland, OR 97214.  If you would like to make an in-kind donation, please contact us for specific needs.

Zimbabwe Artists Project Special Projects Fund:

We always welcome help to maintain our fund for special needs of artists, their families and their communities. If you would like to make a specific donation, please let us know to which of the following projects we should dedicate your donation: AIDS awareness and assistance, textbooks, special individual needs and/or clean water access. contact

Host a House Party!

One of our favorite ways of introducing people to Weya art is through house parties. If you think you might like to host one, please contact Theresa Burks, Executive Director.

Organize an Event
