Gallet Mungure
Gallet was born in Weya in 1975. He was doing Form 1 (8th grade) when he left school due to health. He had osteomylitis, and his right leg was amputated when he was 14. He began painting 2 years later. “I wasn’t interested in art, but at that time I heard that in art you can survive.” He has since become a talented painter who has taught many others.
His favorite topics include wild animals, ancient life, and animals in action – doing things that humans do. “I am interested in animals, and I go to the forest so that I can see them.”
